Hero’s parade moved to Friday 10/28

One of the recipients is in Chicago and coordinating is taking a bit longer.
So, we were waiting at University Hospital’s waiting room until they have Jenny’s hero’s parade walk. A nurse came in at 5:30pm letting us know there is a delay with a recipient coming to San Antonio.

The walk is likely in the afternoon or evening Friday.

ALL recipients are traveling here to San Antonio, so coordinating is a big process for the teams of doctors.

I’ll post again soon.

Thank you for all your prayers & help.

Mother’s Day

Pray for Linda on this Mother’s day in the hardship of grieving Jen.

Pray for Jaida, Ryan & Aurelius.

Jennifer was a good mom in the love she had for her babies. They know it and miss her every day, especially when holidays and events come up. Although living in this grief is different now, they are each doing their best to live in her honor. They’re doing great in school and continue to achieve their own goals.

Each of their personalities is a reflection of Jenny in many ways.

Their heavenly mama is surely proud of who they are. She taught them kindness, giving and strength.

Many hugs and love is surely sent from Jennifer with her beautiful smile from heaven above.

Thank you for those who check on each of them. They will continue to need your support.

1 year missing Jen anniversary

With heavy hearts and sadness, the first year of Jennifer’s passing approaches. October 24th is on her certificate, but October 22nd is also difficult in that this date she was unresponsive at home. These days have been heavy in our hearts as her children adjust to living and going to school while grieving their beautiful mom. Jen’s parents are sometimes inconsolable in grief, but bravely put one foot forward each day. Faith and love for her and spending time with the grandkids help them to continue living on in the best they know how. We all miss her and keep remembering our time with her for almost 37 years. Her smiles while she shared her kindnesses, hugs, laughter, and words of strength and encouragement are greatly missed. We have had signs from her in dreams, prayers, butterflies and more – and hope they remain of great comfort that she is with our Lord Jesus.

The family invites you to be with them at the cemetery. We will be gathering at 6pm Tuesday October 24th, 2023 and releasing some balloons in her memory.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 16075 North Evans Road, Selma, Texas 78154.

All are welcome. Please share with those who knew her.

May God bless you all and please keep the family in prayers – especially Linda, David, Jaida, Ryan and Aurelius, Richard and extended family.

Appreciation

Over the past few months, accepting that Jennifer is not coming home has been especially difficult for her 3 kiddos and her parents. We just want to extend appreciation to all who continue to stay in touch – by text, call, visits. Your time, whether a hug or being around us is extremely valued.

Please continue to stay in touch – it means everything to the family still.

Even as school returns – the first day back without mom there is painful. Grieving is definitely a journey to continue figuring out how to go through each day.

Thank you for all that are around us. Keep coming around. Keep calling. Keep remembering Jennifer with us.

Christmas Tears

While there are many holidays, the loss at Christmas was especially painful. This first Christmas without Jennifer was celebrated with the kids and family. We all did our best to pray, smile, and remember how much Jenny loved her children and provided for them. She had some gifts picked out before she passed, but more importantly she was remembered for giving at Christmas to those who were poor. They joked about her making the kids give up a toy to shelters every year and being ready with little packs of items for the homeless. Sharing the disbelief that she is no longer on this earth still hits hard, but there have been signs that are very strong from Jenny. Christ was born to bring faith, hope and love – and so this Christmas was a huge reminder that his love, mercy and blessings through and for Jennifer are very real.

In hope, we continue to gather.

Honoring Jenny on Her Birthday

This first birthday without Jenny will be one of the most difficult to have.
