“Jen Fuentes Memorial Fund”.

The walk for life will be today at 7pm right before they take Jenny to surgery at 8pm.
Family would like everyone here by 6:30pm for prayer and to say our goodbyes. At 7pm they will start to get her ready for the walk. Surgery will take about 3 hours.
Should the time change, we will adjust this post here because they are giving us a three hour notice.

The family appreciates the meals brought for the family & kids.
Their refrigerator is overflowing, so please refrain from Friday’s dinner meals on the 28th.
Thank you for all of the condolences and kind words to Dave & Linda & the children.
One of the recipients is in Chicago and coordinating is taking a bit longer.
So, we were waiting at University Hospital’s waiting room until they have Jenny’s hero’s parade walk. A nurse came in at 5:30pm letting us know there is a delay with a recipient coming to San Antonio.
The walk is likely in the afternoon or evening Friday.
ALL recipients are traveling here to San Antonio, so coordinating is a big process for the teams of doctors.

There WILL be a hero’s parade in the hallway before Jenny goes into surgery. Nurses, family & friends line up in the hallway where Jennifer will be wheeled into surgery to clap for her being an organ donor.
Friends and family can be a part of this scheduled for 10/27 (Thursday) at 8pm. Arrive early.

As the 3 children begin to accept what has happened, the tears, worry and concerns are part of their recent days.
Each of them are processing their grief. Aurelius is 3 years old and they are going to have a meeting with a counselor to explain to him in the best way he can understand. They do not want him to be traumatized more by telling him she is sleeping or use terms that might make him anxious about anyone he loves around him.
They know it will take a lot of explaining and time.
Ryan is with Peter & his grandma. Jaida is in her dorm. Each taking a break from school of course.
They ask for prayers for Jaida, Ryan and Aurelius and those close to the family to remain supportive in each of their lives milestones, and care going forward.
Today, the family awaits word from the doctors that are preparing Jennifer for organ donation. One surgery will take place when her team of doctors for recipients have coordinated. She is a true hero.
There might be a hero’s parade in the hallway before she goes into surgery. If that is something that is happening that friends and family can be a part of, we will let you know here.

The news is shocking and devastating as you can imagine. Our family is very appreciative of all who have reached out so far to offer their prayers, condolences and assistance during last few days.
Daily updates will continue to be posted here so you can know how David, Linda and the children are doing.
Please lessen calls directly to them, as they have so much coordinating and grieving they are doing & processing.
